How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can cancel your CalmTales subscription at any time. Here's how:

On iPhone/iPad (iOS):

  1. Open the Settings app on your device
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap CalmTales
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription
  6. Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation

Important Notes:

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period
  • After cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • Deleting the app does NOT cancel your subscription - you must cancel through iOS Settings
  • Your stories and data remain accessible even after cancellation

How to Request a Refund

Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the CalmTales subscription charge
  4. Click "Report a Problem" and select your reason
  5. Submit your request to Apple

Note: CalmTales cannot process refunds directly as all billing is handled by Apple.

How do I create a story for my child?

After creating a child profile, tap "Generate Story" on the home screen. Select your child's profile, choose story preferences (length, theme, etc.), and tap "Create Story". The AI will generate a personalized bedtime story in about 30-60 seconds.

Why is my story taking a long time to generate?

Story generation typically takes 30-60 seconds. If it's taking longer, check your internet connection. If you're on a slow connection, stories may take up to 2 minutes. If generation fails, you can try again.

Can I edit a story after it's generated?

Currently, stories cannot be edited after generation. However, you can generate a new story with different preferences. We're considering adding editing features in future updates.

How do I delete a child profile?

Go to Settings, find the profile you want to delete, and tap "Delete Profile". This will permanently remove the profile and all associated stories. This action cannot be undone.

Is my child's information safe?

Yes! We only collect first names (never last names), and all data is encrypted and stored securely. We're COPPA compliant and never share your child's information with third parties for marketing. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I use CalmTales offline?

Stories that have already been generated can be viewed offline. However, generating new stories requires an internet connection as they're created by our AI in real-time.

What does the free trial include?

The 7-day free trial gives you full access to all premium features including unlimited story generation and AI illustrations. You won't be charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged at all.

Will I be automatically charged after the free trial?

Yes, your subscription automatically renews at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can cancel anytime through your iOS Settings (see cancellation instructions above).

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Open CalmTales on your new device, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

The app crashed or isn't working properly. What should I do?

Try these steps: 1) Close and reopen the app, 2) Check for app updates in the App Store, 3) Restart your device, 4) If the issue persists, contact us at support@mycalmtales.com with details about what happened.
